Measuring for your new doors and drawer fronts
The easiest way to measure for new doors is to measure the old ones. First check your carcase is still suitable and is at least 15mm thick and made from a solid material. You should measure the reverse of your doors in millimetres, with the height first then the width. A door should be 5mm less than the overall height of your carcase and 4mm less than the overall width, to allow for clearance. For example If your unit is 720mm High and 500mm wide, your door will be - 715mm High and 496mm wide. Please remember, we can manufacture any size door, so if your existing doors do not fit correctly, you can specify the exact size you need. Please double check your measurements as we manufacture your doors to your exact order.
Hinges
We can drill 35mm circular hinge holes for your new doors at the cost of 50 pence per hole. If you don't want to use your old hinges, we can also provide new BLUM hinges at the cost of £1.50 each You must measure your existing carcase thickness so that we can provide you with the correct type of fitting. You can select the relevant hinge plate when purchasing your hinges in our online shop.
When measuring where you require the hinge holes, please measure from the top and bottom of the door to the centre of the existing hinge hole. Please see diagram below. We do not need to know which side the holes are drilled as our doors are the same if you turn them upside down. Our standard hinge holes would be drilled at 117mm from the top and bottom of the door unless you specify otherwise.
Please check that your old hinges are compatible with our 35mm hinge holes.
